Capturing The Art of Forgiveness
The “Art of Forgiveness” is a traveling exhibition featuring over 50 original pieces inspired by the parable of the Prodigal Son, as interpreted by Rembrandt, Thomas Hart Benton, JJ Tissot, and dozens of other artists. A wide variety of works includes paintings, prints, ceramics, textiles, and other media. The collection comes from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, with additional materials from the Larry and Mary Gerbens Private Collection.
The exhibit came to First Presbyterian Church in March of 2016 and invited viewers from all faith backgrounds to come and reflect upon the love and mercy of the father, illustrated by beautiful artwork displayed in a unique gallery setting.
